1. Don’t take risk without having a plan. Your home-based Internet business, just like any other real business, must have a solid game plan. Therefore, you really don’t have to take the risk of losing your hard earned cash because you don’t have a prepared plan. Take it from many home base-d businesses who fail because of not having a plan. Make a plan and set achievable goals. This will keep you focus on achieving your goals.

2. Pursuing ineffective marketing strategies. You also need to come up with a marketing strategy to go about your business plan.Search for your target audience. Be able to identify the marketability of your products or services and also be aware of your competitors as well. Once you’ve identified them, concentrate on your efforts.The more specific a target you can identify, the more effective your marketing efforts will be.just make sure that the products you are going to market is going to sell. Focus on advertising its benefits rather than just its features. Advertise your products by telling your customers that its going to address any of their problem.

3. Don’t spam. As you go about your marketing tools in optimizing your website, make sure that you will not be considered a spam. Say for example in your forum posting, you have to make sure that your posts abide to their rules about what is acceptable; some are stricter than others, but no reputable forum will accept out and out advertisements. Forum posting is a great way to connect to your target customers, always make sure to provide them sensible information. Never take the risk and lose your credibility because of spamming – not to mention the fines and the consequence of getting banned that comes with it.

4. Not minding the importance of credibility in doing business online. Deal with them with respect. Because it will lead you to repeat customers and referral sales. People want to feel important and valued.

5. Don’t just sit back and expect results. Running a home-based Internet business certainly doesn’t work overnight. It requires a lot of time as it progresses. Eventually, as you established your online business, all you need is some maintenance. On the other hand, if you just ignore your venture completely, it’s a sure fire way to fail. You also have to keep you home-based Internet business relevant. Things are changing everyday. Now, in order to continue your business from growing you must keep abreast of any changes, both specifically in you market and in the business world in general. Make use of any innovations or technology which can help make your home-based-business more efficient and productive.
